Does your jaw hurt?

Jaw Pain also known as TMJ or more appropriately as Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) is very common. Unfortunately, many people suffering from TMD have difficulty finding a fix. Luckily, Manual Physical Therapy is quite successful at improving the disorder and often takes as little as 2-3 weeks.

Major components include poor posture, grinding your teeth, dental pathology, inflammatory conditions, neck pain, arthritis and a handful of other components. A thorough Physical Therapy examination can identify which components are leading to your TMD. We always recommend having regular visits with your Dentist as well.

Initially, avoid hard foods, chewy foods, and wide mouth yawning. Establish good sleeping habits, manage your stress, and watch your posture. If your jaw is stuck shut or open call a Manual Physical Therapist or other health care provider immediately.
