Shoulder

The primary job of the shoulder complex is to position the hand in space. An inability to position the hand in space results in significant impairment of the entire arm. The shoulder is a complex structure made up of 3 true joints and 1 “pseudojoint.” Pain or stiffness of the shoulder often results from an impairment in the way these joints interact, inflammation, arthritis, muscle strain, or other ailments of the soft tissues within the joint. It is important to seek Physical Therapy early to reduce the risk of further injury.
